Bond Refinancing

*Upon review of the disclosure information, below, the following has been updated for accuracy.  Any questions on this matter should be directed to the attention of Steve Zielinski, Chief Financial Officer.

For the second time in less than one year, the District has taken the opportunity to refinance two of its eligible bond issues.   The refunding bonds have generated considerable savings for its residents.  The first refunding in August 2014 affected 231 property owners and reduced their debt service assessment ranging from $187 to $373 depending upon the neighborhood.  The second refunding in March 2015 affected 191 property owners and reduced their debt service assessment ranging from $305 to $451 in addition to reducing the term of the bond from 21 years to 20 years.

The Neighborhood savings on an annual basis is reflected below:

August 2014

March 2015

**Please note that the Silverwood Eagles Preserve properties are not part of the refunding bonds and therefore do not derive any debt service assessment reduction.

By taking advantage of the extremely favorable interest rate market in the past year, the District has managed to reduce its long-term debt service requirements on its existing bond obligations by more than $2,631,000.   The residents of CDD6 should be pleased to know that both its elected officials and its management team have remained vigilant with its fiduciary responsibilities regarding its fiscal affairs.
